Logging the distance travelled before each rotation and the rotation degrees would be great.

Why? Because you can infer a fairly good coverage map for those of us without GPS from that.

If you wanted to go one step further, it'd be really nice to just calculate the actual map of the garden using the data provided by the boundary wire. Not sure how possible that is though.

If anyone's used the Neato cleaning map, they'll know what I'm talking about...

This is an nice idea. I'm also interested in this function.

Mein Englisch ist nicht gut und daher muss ich leider auf Deutsch antworten.

Das wird nicht funktionieren. Ich habe schon öfter beobachtet, dass mein Mäher bei langen Strecken nicht 100% geradeaus fährt. Zum einen vermute ich, dass die Radmotoren nicht vollkommen synchron laufen und weiterhin genügt eine Mulde im Rasen, mit einer dadurch bedingten Schrägfahrt, dass der Mäher ein klein wenig seinen Kurs verändert. Und schon sind alle Berechnungen seit der letzten Drehung nur noch Makulatur.

Diese kleinen Fehler würden sich innerhalb einer Stunde so addieren, dass ohne feste Bezugspunkte solch eine Karte völlig unbrauchbar wäre.
